ACUPUNTURE NEEDLES: Do They Hurt?

Acupuncture Needles: The Truth!

Are you like so many people who are intrigued, curious and interested in the idea of having Acupuncture?... BUT then you think of the actual needles, and the PAIN they cause, and say “No way!!”

Not the most pleasant thought. Needles may even make you cringe. That is understandable. Most of us have had an experience with hypodermic needles. Generally, they cause a painful sensation when they pierce your skin, as they are designed to inject fluids or draw blood.

.

Acupuncture needles are NOT the same as hypodermics. They’re about ten times smaller in size - approximately the size of a cats whisker. And they are very flexible. Acupuncture needles insert only millimetres on the dermal (skin) layers, just into the skin surface, and most often a person feels nothing or a heavy sensation. At worst you might feel something like a mosquitio bite.

Needles stay in 15-30 minutes, depending on your treatment. Most people have a relaxing SNOOZE because they feel SO CALM and CHILLED OUT whilst the session is going. And the lovely feeling stays for days to come.

Talk to your acupuncturist about your fears!

Initially, a lot of people are scared to try acupuncture because they are afraid of needles. Your acupuncturist is likely to have had this conversation with many patients before you. It’s important that you communicate with your acupuncturist because she will listen to your concerns and work with you to help you feel comfortable.

A British Acupuncture Council member is trained to approach you with a gentle, systemic scope of healing through making you feel RELAXED and CALM and CONTENT.

In our clinic we use only single-use, sterile, disposable needles specially imported from Japan because of renowned quality and design to be pain-free. If the fear is too much still but you want to try there are always many other Chinese Medicine methods which require no needles to stimulate the acu-points, like acupressure, heat, massage, cupping, and more....

Don't let the misnomer that "Acupuncture is Painful" prevent you from finding your path to purely natural wellbeing and health!
